Just the recipe
Cook without ads.
You shouldn't have to scroll through a book-length article and a wall of ads to make dinner. Paste a link and you get the recipe — ingredients, steps, times and photo — without the pop-ups.
Every imported recipe credits and links the site it came from, so the cook who wrote it gets the visit when you want the story. Hedgehog Chef itself has no ads on any plan — the few store links that earn a commission are disclosed and optional.
Before: ads, pop-ups, and the recipe somewhere below
After: just the recipe, source credited
Before: a typical recipe page with ad blocks, a newsletter pop-up, a video ad and a cookie banner around long paragraphs. After: the same recipe in Hedgehog Chef, with only the title, photo, times, ingredients and steps, and a link to the original site.
How it works
From “what's for dinner?” to done, in three steps.
01
Bring your recipes
Paste a link from any recipe site, snap a cookbook page, or import your whole Paprika library — photos, ratings and notes included.
02
Ask for a plan
Tell the planner what the week needs: a budget, more protein, a vegetarian night, the spinach to use up. Review the plan, then apply it.
03
Shop and cook
The week becomes one list sorted by aisle, minus what you already have. Then cook mode walks you through each recipe, timers and all.
A tour
Everything for dinner, in one place.
Hedgehog Chef does the jobs of a recipe app, a planner, a list app and a fridge note — and they all know about each other.
The planner
A planner that has read your recipes.
Ask in plain words. The planner looks at your library, pantry, meal plan and prices, then proposes a plan, a shopping list or a new recipe. Nothing changes until you tap Apply — and Undo is right there.
Scale to any number of servings with real fractions, switch to metric, tap a time in a step to start a timer. Cook mode shows one step at a time in big type, with just the ingredients that step needs.
Binders for weeknights, holidays and grandma's
Voice control and read-aloud with messy hands
Cook a whole meal: several recipes, timed to be ready together
A week board with drag and drop, a month view, leftovers and takeout as free-form meals, and “copy last week” for the weeks that look the same. One tap shops for the whole week.
Items land in their aisle, amounts merge (2 cups milk + 1 cup milk = 3 cups), and what's already in the pantry is skipped. Check something off and it's checked on every phone in the house.
Keep track of the fridge, freezer, pantry and spices with expiry dates. Your recipes are ranked by what you have, and a reminder arrives before the yogurt turns.

Your household
One kitchen. Everyone in it.
Invite the people you cook with. Everyone has their own login and sees the same recipes, plan, lists and pantry — and every change shows up instantly. Whoever's at the store sees what was just added at home.
Real time
Check off the milk and it's checked on every phone, no refresh.
Who cooked what
The cook log shows who made each dish, with their rating and notes.
Invite codes
Share a code; they join your kitchen when they sign up.
On every device
Phones, tablets, laptops — install it like an app on each.
Import
Bring every recipe you've ever saved.
Recipe sites, cookbook photos, pasted text and other apps' exports each become a clean recipe: ingredients parsed, steps split, times and servings filled in. Recipes without a photo get an appetizing one.
Pick the stores you actually shop at and turn them on or off whenever you like. Your list is priced item by item and totaled — and the week's plan, and each recipe — with where every number comes from.
Prices are live prices at Kroger-family stores (Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, King Soopers, Harris Teeter and more), community prices from Open Prices, or estimates from US average and typical prices for your state, always labeled as estimates. Where a store doesn't offer prices to apps, the list says so instead of guessing.

Coming from Paprika?
Export your library from Paprika and import it in one go — photos, ratings, notes and categories included. We also wrote an honest, row-by-row comparison, including where Paprika is still the better fit.
Hedgehog Chef is a recipe box, meal planner, shopping list and pantry that your whole household shares: every recipe you care about in one place, help deciding what to cook, and a plan that turns into a shopping list sorted by aisle.
Is there an app for iPhone and Android?
Hedgehog Chef is a web app you install from your browser: on iPhone, open app.hedgehogchef.com in Safari and choose Share → Add to Home Screen; on Android, Chrome offers Install app. It then opens full screen like any other app. There's no App Store or Google Play version yet.
Can my partner and kids use it too?
Yes. Everyone gets their own login and joins your kitchen with an invite code. Recipes, the plan, shopping lists and the pantry are shared, and changes show up for everyone instantly. Free kitchens have up to 2 people; Hedgehog Chef Plus kitchens up to 8.
Who can see my recipes?
Only the people in your kitchen and apps you connect yourself (such as Claude). Recipes are never public, there are no ads, and the app and this site have no trackers or analytics scripts.
Does Hedgehog Chef have ads?
No. Not on any plan. Hedgehog Chef is paid for by Hedgehog Chef Plus subscriptions, not by showing you ads or selling your data, and recipes you import arrive without the ads and pop-ups of the page they came from, with the original site credited and linked. A few store links (a tool you don't own, Walmart prices) are disclosed affiliate links — never banners or paid placement — and you can turn them off in Settings.
